When to use it

  • Editing large README tables in a spreadsheet.
  • Moving documentation tables into a database.
  • Analysing tables published on GitHub.

Tip: After editing, use CSV to Markdown Table to put the updated table back into your docs.

Finds the table

Paste a whole Markdown document; the first table is detected by its separator row.

Handles escapes

Escaped pipes (\|) stay inside their cell and <br> becomes a line break.

Typed values

Numbers and booleans are recognised, so spreadsheets treat them correctly.

Delimiter choice

Export with commas, semicolons or tabs.

FAQ

Common questions

Does the table need outer pipes?

No. Tables with or without leading and trailing pipes are both read.

What if the document has several tables?

The first table is converted. Paste only the table you need to pick another one.

Is alignment kept?

CSV has no alignment, so the :--- markers are ignored.

Is it private?

Yes, the conversion runs in your browser.
